“How Bright the Sunlight” Premiere

The Plimpton Foundation celebrated the premiere of “How Bright the Sunlight,” a new piece by Pulitzer Prize Winning Composer, Anthony Davis, created in honor of the Haudenosaunee people. Performed by the Eastman Philharmonia and featuring U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo as Narrator, James VanDemark on bass, and (Plimpton Foundation Board Member) Timothy Long conducting, the premiere was warmly received by an enthusiastic audience in Kodak Hall at the Eastman School of Music.
