Moab Music Festival 2022

Celebrating its 30th year this past summer, the Moab Music Festival’s theme was the Moab community and “music in concert with the landscape”. On September 3rd, Timothy Long returned to MMF curating a program of new commissions from 2 Native American composers/performers, Dawn Avery and Martha Redbone, both of whom have also been commissioned to write for our North American Indigenous Songbook concert to be held in late 2023. Not only did Tim emcee the concert entitled “Sunrise on Turtle Island: Contemporary Native American Voices”, he also premiered his two first composed works for piano at Moab. 

The evening under the stars surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and wonderful music was truly magical.
