August 2024 Update:

“My upcoming performances include OSU Opera's Scenes Program in the McKnight Center at OSU where I will be performing as Dorabella in Soave sia il vento from Cosi fan tutte, Sister Helen in the duet from Deadman Walking, and Kathy in Drink, Drink, Drink from Student Prince. This performance will be October 12th at 7:30pm. I will also sing in OSU Opera's production of Hansel and Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck where I will be playing Gertrude. These performances will be March 14th at 7:30 pm and March 15 at 2:30pm.”


Hayley Hitt is a Marketing major at Oklahoma State University. She is minoring in applied music with a focus on vocal performance. She is from Muskogee Oklahoma where she has grown up with a deep love and appreciation for music. She began studying opera when she was 13 years old with professional opera singer Barbara McAlister and continued her studies in college with the OSU Opera Program and with vocal studies with Professor April Golliver-Mohiuddin. She has performed in OSU Opera's production of Into the Woods as the Witch, OSU Opera's President's Masterwork Performance where she portrayed Niclaus from the barcarolle Belle Nuit. She has also performed in 5 scene performances with OSU Opera with repertoire ranging from A Dream Is A Wish You Heart Makes from Cinderella, to 1st Lady in the Act 1 Quintet from The Magic Flute, to Always True To You In My Fashion from Kiss, Me Kate. Hayley has also performed in Barbara McAlister's Cherokee Nation vocal recitals, and recorded a video of the piece "When The Swallows Homeward Fly" from the archives of the Cherokee Nation Women's Seminary. She also made her hometown debut and performed Georgia On My Mind, Route 66, and Rio De Janeiro Blues at the annual Muskogee Symphony In The Park at Honor Heights Park with the Muskogee Community Band. She is grateful to the Plimpton Foundation and to Timothy Long for the honor of being a recipient of the 2024 Timothy Long Prize, and to her family for supporting her through all of her musical endeavors.
